Dolores L. “Dee” Dorman, 83, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018. She was born April 15, 1934, and bragged that she was born on Tax Day, the day the Titanic sunk and Abraham Lincoln’s assassination date. Her parents were William Lee Hudson and Alice Lavenia Hayden.

Hugh Joseph “Hughie” McBride, 73, of Selbyville, Del., passed away Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, Del. He was born in San Bernardino, Calif., the eldest son of the late Hugh F. McBride and Ellen (O’Connell) McBride. He grew up and lived much of his life in the “Forty Acres” of Wilmington, Del.

Charles Hill Mitchell, 93

Charles Hill Mitchell, 93, of Millsboro, Del., passed away Feb. 9, 2018, at the Delaware Veterans Home in Milford. He was a farmer and owner of Mission Farms. He dedicated his life to serving the youth of the community and making a difference.

Sean Patrick O’Brien, 39

Sean Patrick O’Brien, 39, of Ocean City, Md., died suddenly on Feb. 4, 2018. He was born in Baltimore, Md., on April 5, 1978, and grew up in Severna Park.

A member of Severna Park High School’s class of 1996, he later attended Anne Arundel Community College. A plumber by trade, at the time of his death he worked for Ocean View Plumbing.

James William “Billy P.” Parramore Jr., 50, of Selbyville, Del., died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018, at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Md. He was born in Salisbury, Md., on Jan. 3, 1968, son of the late James William Sr. and Nancy (Kohler) Parramore.

Mary Catherine “Katie” (Larson) Peterson, 71, of Bethany Beach, Del., passed away at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, Del., on Feb. 10, 2018, after a long battle with diabetes and heart disease.

Neil F. Taylor Jr., 85

Neil F. Taylor Jr., 85, of Selbyville, Del., died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018, at home. He was born in Baltimore, Md., son of the late Neil Frank Taylor Sr. and Verna Loretta (Ernest) Taylor.

Taylor retired from work as a lineman for C&P Telephone and was a member of Elks Lodge 2645 in Ocean City, Md., and the American Legion. He also served in the U.S. Navy.

Betty Baker West, 83, of Millsboro, Del., passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family and Coastal Hospice, on Friday, Feb. 9, 2018. She was born in Georgetown, Del., to the late Paul and Helen Hickman Elliott.

Norman Charles “Charlie” Blackiston, 70, of Millsboro, Del., formerly of Dover, Del., Sudlersville, Md., passed away on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, Del. He was born in Chestertown, Md., on Oct. 3, 1947, son of the late Norman Blackiston and Hilda (Burris) Blackiston.

Joseph L. Donohue, 77, of Millsboro, Del., passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018, in Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, Del. He was born Oct. 16, 1940, in Philadelphia, Pa., a son of the late Joseph P. Donohue and Alice (Bettinger) Donohue.

Nancy A. Hoeflich, 71, of Selbyville, Del., died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2018, at home. She was born in Baltimore, Md., daughter of the late Marshall Teabo and Gloria (Carlson) Teabo.

She retired from work as an administrative secretary from Royal Plus Inc. She was an ambassador for the Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce and was a board member with Cocktails Curing Cancer.

Dorothy “Dottie” (Eastham) Eakins, 69, of Bethany Beach/Ocean View, Del., lost her very short battle with cancer on Jan. 13, 2018. She was born July 1, 1948, in Wiesbaden, Germany, to Eleanor Anna “Ella” Bohland Eastham, who passed away when Eakins was 12. She was raised by her dad and mom, Joe W. Eastham and Brigitte Eastham.

David Forney, 78

David Forney, 78, of Long Neck, Del., is at rest. He passed away and went “home,” surrounded by love, on Friday, Jan. 19, 2018, while his daughter Michelle reassured him with words of comfort, held his hand and rested her head next to his. His cherished son and his partner-in-life, his wife, Sandie, were just feet away.

Jean Marie Cooper, 84, of Frankford, Del., passed away Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, in Delaware Hospice Center. She was born May 26, 1933, in Rochester, N.Y., a daughter of the late Alfred Bertrand and Minnie (Lynch) Bertrand.

She was a poultry grower and a school bus driver for the Indian River School District. She also volunteered her time working with children.
